mayan calendarAs we approach the winter solstice on the 21st of December, we are also approaching a great opportunity. There has been a lot of talk and speculation, a lot of misinformation and hype, and while I doubt that any one person has all of the answers, here are a couple of things to consider.

December 21st

Regarding the Mayan Calendar and 12/21/2012. In the Mayan Calendar, it is the end of the long count, which starts over again the very next day. The Mayan Calendar is divided into a short count, medium count and long count. The long count is approximately 5,125 years, and five long counts is the amount of time it takes for our solar system to complete one full revolution around the center of the galaxy. This is where we are at today.

So, as the long count comes to an end, it completes one cycle and a new cycle begins with different focus and energies. This does not mean the world comes to an end, it simply means there is shift in the energies on the planet. And this change and energy we can have direct impact on.

So what does this really mean to us? This is something that many people have pondered. And I believe it provides us with a great opportunity. In deeper spiritual teachings, there is a concept of the void.

The Void

The void represents the essence of spirit, where energy is transformed into physical creation, and that whatever is placed into the void is created in your future. The void gathers and collects all material and gives birth to a new future.

And I believe that our planet is crossing through a void, for 3 days. I have been meditating and contemplating this concept and I have had much discussion regarding this subject.  I believe that the most empowering thing you can do for your own life, and for the progression of the human “experiment,” is that during these three days of the void,  focus on how you want the world to be. Not just your personal life, but the general well being of all people.

What Can We Do

That all people have enough to eat, that all people have hope and purpose, and are truly unified in love and respect. That we forgive and respect each other and that we love.

So, for the next few days, especially from the 20th through the 23rd,  but even on into the new year would be awesome (we can never have enough of this vibration of hope and love), hold onto not only positive images but also wishes of love and compassion in the hearts of those people that have been hardened by life to find forgiveness and light, that this may be a guiding principle in their actions.

I know there has been much pain and sorrow this month, with violence and murders. Unexplained acts of cruelty. And I do not in any way try to take or belittle the process people must go through to find healing from their grief. Loss of a child is one of the most painful experiences a soul can have.

But my desire is that we unify in our efforts, so that this sort of thing won’t even be in the consciousness of mankind, so that there will be a time when this will never happen again.

Find Joy. Do Something Fun. Eat well. Enjoy Life

In addition to your loving thoughts and prayers, I highly encourage everyone to spend these three days engaging in something joyful and playful. Something rewarding in life. Have good food, rest when you need it, play and really enjoy life, so that this is the energy sent forth into the rest of your life.

Happy Mayan New Year
